1990s Italian Murano glass diamond faceted octagonal perfume bottle, with flat sides and quality rounded edges with an unusual candy octagonal drop stopper. A very decorative bottle, the body and stopper worked with the Venetian technique Sommerso: the 2 colors, royal blue and gold amber, are separated insets in the crystal of the glass stopper while the layers in blue, green, yellow, and gold are superposed in the body, encased in crystal clear Murano glass. This superimposition in the body causes a mixture of colors such that yellows and greens are reflected. This is also observed in the stopper when viewed transversally, even though the blue and amber colors are not touching. This play of colors makes this piece very sophisticated.
Attention to detail with the stopper resting on a raised turned brass screw-on collar and the multifaceted exterior which catches the light like a prism, makes this piece an interesting collector piece.
